Since Benjamin doesn’t walk, we are testing out various conveyances for getting him around. Sue got a bargain stroller on ebay yesterday, and they also got one of those backpacks with a frame. Since the little one is actually not quite so little, the backpack with boy weighs about ten kg.
Yesterday was lovely. Emma and I went to Camberwell market in the morning. I then went over to Sue and Damian’s, fed my gorgeous boy, and then Damian and I went out for a walk. They live near the Banyule park and we walked along this path, me with the pusher and Damian with the backpack.
It was a lovely early winter evening. As we walked, the sun went down, and Benjamin fell asleep. Transferring him to the stroller, we wandered around and through the back streets to home. Sue had been a whirlwind in the meantime and had prepared dinner - we floated down the driveway on the wafts of gorgeous aromas.
It’s lovely spending time with them. I’m still floating on the sense of peace and joy of spending time with all three of them. Benjamin has started holding his own bottle - that seems like such a big step. Now that I’m more regularly there, and as he gets older, he knows who I am.
This weekend I’ve been careful not to overdo it, but also careful to do something each day. Saturday was garden day - I got all the wire netting off the fence. Peter mowed, and we got a petrol line trimmer, since the battery powered one seemed to be only tickling the grass. It could be my technique. Sunday was a stroll around Camberwell Market and then our walk in the park.
Today, I’m still in bed (although knitting) and am going to move furniture around. It’s a good day for inside things.
It seems to be working. Symptoms are decreasing, mood is good, and I’m getting stuff done, which is never a bad thing.
