Today Sue and Benjamin and I went to the market at Lardner Park run by Craft Markets Australia.
Although the official starting time was 10am, Sue sugggested that her experience with Yarra Glen is that it’s always open earlier so she came to get me at sparrow fart and we were there by 9am.
It’s gorgeous out that way now that it’s a bit less wet. The market was quite small, but had some old faves (Joy’s of Redhill, bacon and egg rolls) and some different stalls. I got a beautiful myrtle burl which has been shaped in to a eggshell thin rounded shape. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I just checked the card and the guy has a website so i’ll post that separately.
Yesterday I ended up back in bed. I feel unwell but not sure what kind. I think perhaps I’m over-tired. The trip to Ikea and the supermarket on Friday night knocked the stuffing out of both me and Peter - i guess it has been a big week. Then last night I couldn’t sleep. That could have been because i was excited about our trip to the market today. Sometimes i’m a bit of a kid.
Benjamin was a little charmer. He’s 6 months by the calendar on the 26th. He’s adorable, big and totally has my number. He smiles, laughes, and cuddles. I can’t resist kissing his head and letting him pull my hair. He sat in the back of the car and chatted with us - he’s making all sorts of gorgeous rrrrr noises and little pleased squeals.
We come home to a roaring fire set by Emma. The fire has been going every night this week. I love the open fire. It’s made the house so much warmer, and it makes it even more homey.
This weekend I have
- installed the new dishwasher
- put together a CD tower
- resurrected a fire by blowing on it
- finished a very over-engineered plan of dates and dependencies for work
- bought a new sewing machine
- got a free p-touch labeller!!!
- been to the market
- made a cake
- been to Ikea
- napped
- put lots of logs on the fire
