The job interview was today. While I have no idea if I 'did well', or if I think I will be hired, I am happy that I made it to interview. Not stupid and all that. The interview was done in the modern panel style (two people, 1 male, 1 female), and they asked those kinds of progressive questions like 'Tell us about a time when you had to deal with a customer who might have been angry. How did you deal with this situation?' and 'What do you think you would like about working as an AA for *insert name of government body here*?'.
While I understand why large organisations interview candidates in this style, I don't enjoy it. Clearly, interviews are not necessarily something that you are actually supposed to enjoy, but I find dwelling on how I dealt with negative situations quite challenging. For starters, I genuinely don't remember actual incidents all that well. Who said what. How the incident began. Why on earth I was involved in the first place. And not having a memory for these things isn't conducive to being able to answer these questions well, or even particularly logically.
I made persistant reference throught the interview to team work, listening, communication and blah, blah, blah. So perhaps that will be enough.
