Finn and I have been playing Lego Videogames for most of his life now. He used to sit on my knee and watch me play Space Robots before he had the words to christen them Space Robots.
And while he has a great fondness for anything on a screen he is especially keen on Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman. And for a while now he has been talking about the Finn Lego Game. He makes models with his Lego, he tells me what characters will be in each one (mostly his kinder friends) and asked me to make this video game for him.
When I explain that I don’t have these skills he insists that he ask the people at the game shop to make one. Just the other day, obviously sick of waiting, he asked me to make him a blank white book so that he could write the instruction manual. Once that was finished he wanted a DVD cover to put it in (only $1.20 at JB) and a disc as well. Nicky took some photos for the cover and they look great.
I think that Finn would have been happy with a disc with a picture on the surface but instead we went down to the creek and shot some footage for a little promotional movie (these often feature at the start of the game). At first Finn was not interested but he soon warmed to the idea.
He hasn’t seen the end result yet; I certainly hope he likes it.
