toddler asleep at 5pm = not so good
contract extended = good
virus finally moved on after 3 weeks = v. good
spring = good
a cafe that gives free babycinos to those who buy a real coffee = ridiculously good (nicky, what are you doing next wednesday?)
life = fairly good at the moment after one bloody long winter of illness and can-t be arsed
ok i cracked a plan about riding bike around thailand
now i’m not going to think about it again until i’ve saved $1000 of my pocket money and can ride for more than an hour without dying.
pocket money is generally used for coffees at work and food at work and parking at work and other unnecessary things that could be avoided if i was more organised and led a life of quiet righteousness
i am so sick of thinking about money
yesterday my mother braved the outer western suburban train network and the rural train network and came to visit
my brother and his new and glamourous girlfriend (he always has glamourous girlfriends) came to visit and drew put on a non-stop eight hour I’m the cutest thing in the world performance. which was very cute. she is becoming more a little person and less a baby everyday.
so far her defining personality trait would be her stubborness, i think. and her love of an audience. she’s also very good at sharing, which is kind of nice to see. we did something right! and having trantrums when we don’t give her what she wants. we did something wrong! also her co-dependence on a pink furry jumpsuit that is the embodiment of skank. it’s upsetting when you have to touch blanky pyjama. just remember to wash your hands afterwards.
last week blanky pyjama was missing when we were picking up drew from childcare. possibly the worst five minutes of my life. there were three different childcare workers and myself and eilis looking for blanky pyjama. luckily located in the bigger kids’ room. crisis averted. for now.
she is also too stubborn to persist with walking. she can do a few steps if she really really needs to but crawling is much quicker so why bother. i sometimes imagine her on stage accepting her degree in academic dress, crawling while holding blanky pyjama. she’s pretty stubborn.
today i feel like crap so i am at home. the sun is shining though, and the dog is digging in the composting. all is relatively right with the world.
to say i haven’t really travelled extensively is somewhat of an understatement
but i read lots of travel stuff everyday nowadays and i’ve been thinking about south east asia and specifically thailand, to start with.
apparently one of the easier countries to navigate as a dumb white chick.
today i have a bit of free time to think and i think this sounds pretty excellent:

and maybe also the urban evening cycle around bangkok
flights seem pretty cheap > $1000
also a good plan because it means i would actually need to get a lot fitter than i am. i have taken some steps towards this, this year, but a long way to go.
definitely still in the planning stage. i need to figure this plan out.

Oops. There's meant to be a comment there, but it's gone. Anyway, I was right behind the idea, up till: "design the programming for the robot...!"
