  My Succession Law assignment arrived in the mail yesterday. I passed ! Now all I have to do is achieve a Pass on the November exam and I will rack up another subject towards my Law degree. I’m still waiting for my Family Law assignment to turn up in the mail. I lodged it just over a month ago. I’m beginning to see my Law course as a series of steps along the way. Another student at my university said to me a couple of years ago: “Remember - the important thing in completing your degree is not brains. The most important quality you need is persistence”. I’m hoping she’s right. If brains is the pre-eminent attribute you need, I’m in real trouble.

  That tantrum pose is just hilarious. And very limber. Baby yoga- not the downward dog so much as the downward pout >:(

  I love it when they try to pick up things bigger than themselves- P tried to (very helpfully) take the cat in her cat box from the car to the house when we returned from the vet’s the other day…

  And I’ve said it before- “striiiiide over stride, waaaalk to that tide, because the door is open wide, the door is- always open wide, the door is- always open wide” is one of my fav. songs, so now I’ll always remember the Twinkle’s birthday. (Take it away i-Toons… “the white moon appears like a hole is the sky, the mangroves go quiet-oboe-…”

  Naturally people are curious about why I have big red cut in the middle of my nose.

  Story one involved a 7-Eleven, a guy with two samuri sword, a rookie cop and $750,000 worth of Pringles. In this story I cut my nose shaving for the press event.

  Story two involved seven large rugby players, a knife, a gun. In this I nick my nose as I leave the stadium.

  Story three involved the Sri Lankan cricket team and my running for a ball that is about to be a six. In this one I cut my nose of the mobile phone of a spectator.

  Lesson the day - most people guess it was the cat.

  The cut on my nose is already starting to heal and Zelda, it seems, have taken a shine to sleeping between the two of us. I woke a couple a times during the night to find he spread out there between our two pillows.

  I’m not scared of Zelda, she’s only every friendly and a little shy with people. But in the wee hours of the night I do worry a tiny bit about being caught up in pusscat skirmishes.

  Lesson for the day - you’ve got to take the pointy with the fluffy.

  Finn’s party was a smashing success. All the kids seemed to have a bad. Finn received a pikle of presents that none of us could jump over. There was delicious food from there to eternity. Finn is lucky to have such a lovely Mum who made this all happen. And Leila, Mum and I are lucky to have such a lovely kid for all these years.
